The Juan Maclean live at Pawn Shop
As much as i love music and spend most of my time listening to it, i hardly ever goto concerts. I love them but there are a few reasons i dont go:
Last week was an exception.
The Juan Maclean live at the pawn shop, with Hot Chip. Both DFA records (home to LCD soundsystem and many other amazing artists). I had heard a few Hot Chip songs before that I liked, but I didn't know much about them. I really came to see The Juan Maclean. I had heard good things about them live, but their cd Less then Human is one of my favorites of all time.
Hot Chip opened and were impressive. Great songs, great performance, had the crowd moving. No pictures though because I was in the back.
After taking what seemed like a very long time to set up what looked like a portable strategic bombing command center (which was good because the crowd thinned out for a bit so i could move up), The Juan Maclean fucking rocked shit hard. Theirs is hard music to perform live because its mostly synthesized, but they had all types of shit. One of the best concerts I've ever been to.
Also, I really like the pictures I took. Check them out. A lot of ghost images due to me leaving the shutter open. Let me know what you think. I didnt use photoshop at all on any of these.
Check out the ghost of him singing.
and of him playing whatever the fuck that thing was. he was all over it, and really making some crazy stuff
seemed like he needed four hands to play that thing....
my favorite picture of this series
this guy was playing something ive never seen. it looked like something used to detect paranormal activity. it also looked incredibly hard to play.
the crowd
check out his ghost arms twisting knobs
the crazy instrument i was describing earlier...the frequency put out changed depending on where his hands were.
dont know what this is....or if its even right side up
loving this one too..
- Miami hardly ever has good concerts, and when there are good ones they aren't promoted well.
