Ok so now on to the real India....next we went to Varanasi which is one of if not the holiest place in India...its located on the banks of the Ganges and is where all the Hindu Pilgrams come to wash away their sins..Its also where they come to die....it is supposedly one of the oldest living cities in the world..Mark Twain said that "Its older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend, and looks twice as old as all of them put together."
Our hotel view...one of the nicer places there but still sketch...the power was off and on...the aircon too....
There are all these temples (ghats) along the river....each one devoted to a god...this one was called the burning ghat, its where all the people that come here to die end up. We got to check it out up close but there was a no camera policy...the males of the family bring the dead here and depending one their caste (poor, rich, millitary, etc) they were brought to a certain places to be burned. The ashes (and unburned body parts) are then thrown into the Gange....its not unusual to see body parts just floating along...
not nearly as weird as he looked....oh and the guy on the left was cool too
This guy just came up to me as i was taking pictures and started rubbing my hand..calling it a massage...then he asked foor 300 Ruppees ($7) uh yea right bro
In India cows are holy....nobody eats them, its immpossible to find beef, which if you know me know youll know thats a problem....the McDonalds here dont have beef but they do have some disgusting concoction called the Maharaja Chicken Mac...so anyway, the cows just roam the streets and do their own thing...this crew was taking a bath
They love cricket here, they have no idea what baseball is though....
I was hoping to hit a 6 runner...too bad this kid put a nasty spin on the ball and when it hit the ground it just sank....my first time ever playing cricket though
Craig: "Now are you sure you arent related to that guy who played the dad on Family Matters?"
Look up....its a monkey, they are also all over
